MTN network problems in SA

MTN South Africa is experiencing network problems which are causing calls to mobile phones on its network to fail.

The problems started shortly before 15:00 on Friday and seem to affect calls from all networks, including MTN itself, to MTN subscribers.
 
No all 4 Mobile Network Operators are having issues in Mahikeng we keep getting no signal just yesterday I tried calling Cell C number using Vodacom SIM the call could not connect i then immediately tried Telkom number the call could not connect
Vodacom signal bar was empty immediately after few bars appeared calls weren't going through
Even today same issue
 
All networks went down last night at 11pm, after which vodacom came back online at around 2pm and MTN finally at around 15:30.

Worse of all is that for more then 10 hours, you could not even make an emergency call, there was literally ZERO signal from MTN. So the report is quite inaccurate as problems started last night already for most people.
 
My MTN Fixed LTE has been working fine this whole time though. Seems to be only affected normal MTN subscribers.
 
Wife and myself both on MTN. She has signal and working fine, I've got no signal, emergency calls only... :cautious:
 
It is a mess at the moment with both my wife's and daughter's phones. Can't make or receive calls including emergency calls, cant phone their own helplines from either a fixed line or a mobile phone and can't receive calls from anywhere at all.

The ONLY thing working on my wife's phone calls is because of the link to my wi-fi hotspot on fibre fixed-line service.

They telling lies that the issue is resolved.

My average here is usually 50mbps.

They have big problems.

My data connection was pretty bad from Thursday. Calls made and received were continuously dropping. Tried calling another mtn number today and could not get through. Called another network number and that works. I'm in Richard's Bay. Very irritating and inconvenient.
 
Great job on MTN's side for bring local traffic speed to a grinding halt as well, congestion is a beatch right now.Local website barely loading.
Higher up then down, doesn't compute and almost exactly double.....sigh

Mine I think since February the coverage has been very bad, I am still unreachable because of the network problem. I stay in Temba Hammanskraal.
