why is mtn charging us for night bundles when others are giving it for free? what time does the night bundle start and when does it end? I'm still to understand why it's charged?

Cell C's 1GB GNite(prepaid) is R10 cheaper than MTN's 1GB Night Express. Also Cell C's 2GB Nite is R10 cheaper than MTN's equivalent...
CellC GNite(valid for 30days)
1GB @ R49
2GB @ R99

MTN Night Express(valid for 30days)
1GB @ R59
2GB @ R109

Yeah Cellc could be a better option if you have good coverage and speed. MTN has LTE so its a slightly better option of you have a MTN LTE connection but a slow Cellc 3G connection. So it can go both ways and both are good deals but yeah value for money goes Cellc's way.

Hey, with Cell C you're compelled to use it then and now. Not with MTN.

What if you're stuck and don't know what to download? R10 wasted! :D That's money bru!

Well with Cellc you also get these which is valid for 30days.

CellC GNite(valid for 30days)
1GB @ R49
2GB @ R99

Only R10 cheaper so R10 cheaper is also money. Both good value for money for those that need them. MTN faster network and I can actually say faster network because ookla released that stats than Cellc

I use that Cell C R10 for a GB. I just wake up rather than stay up for it. MTN would have my attention with something similar.

R17/GB valid for 30 days (highest package - 20GB).

Well it all boils down to reception. I'd use this, but can't.

Is this meaning the 1Gb if it's used up they woul'd be another one available, without paying again for for those given days?

I'm on a MTN contract and I just bought one of the Night Express bundles via the *141*2# menu.
Firstly the confirmation SMS states "Thank you for loading a 250MB Night Express Bundle. You now have 1GB, which will expire on 20141104 at 06h00".
Secondly, the MTN app doesn't show this bundle separate from my existing bundle.
Thirdly, the web-based account does show the breakdown correctly (shows MTN One Day Night Express 1GB).

I will check this out tonight to see if it works as expected.

Used the internet after midnight and this morning it shows that the data used came off my regular bundle, not the Night Express. I will check again when I get my bill in about a week or two.

Hi

We have rectified the SMS message when purchasing the 1GB Night Express Bundle. If you purchase again it will be correct.

Thanks for that, but it seems as if the bundle did only last the evening as I don't see it on my current balance anymore.
