MTN or Vodacom?

MTN = double billing from hell. Good coverage is a farce. July saw the end of 10 years+ with MTN.

Vodacom all the way baby.

I'm sure this is the first time it happened in those 10+ years...?

Anyway, Like I said before, they have already sorted mine (maybe everyone's) out and refunded me without me having to do anything.

No - it happened quite frequently. While they credited my account each time, I ended up having to pay out of pocket because the double billing pushed invoice amounts over my allowance.

The Top Up 315 package allows you to buy data bundles with included airtime, something MTN does not allow. Hence my bill would have doubled on MTN not having a Blackberry anymore.

And and you get a cheap phone or pay your life away in the cash pay in when you want a decent phone. Vodacom just ripps people in terms of the pay in its actually shocking!

Im on MTN Off-peak top-up and im able to load data bundles now, *141*6# method..thou i did get some error msgs at times, i myself im getting to know how this works. Guys at an MTN store refused to believe that i can do that. Well never-mind them you can, i did.

I also got a weekend everyday contact with Vodacom and I must say they fast, billing and other activation of contact was great. You get a safer feeling taking up a contract with Vodacom than MTN i feel. MTN doesnt have its own "own" SP far as i know if you taking up a contract with MTN in an MTN store your s.p is some mobile connection company. With Vodacom, Vodacom is your SP,the company itself. It took me 3 days to get my top-up contract , and 15min for my Vodacom contract to get going.

Well it took 5 days to activate my vodacom contract and they gave me a dummy sim, so it still didn't work after that. Mtn sp is owned by mtn exactly like vodacom sp and they're both equally useless.
In terms of the pay in at Vodacom it worked out to a little more than MTN but I'll save a lot more not having to pay extra for data bundles and my call rates are significantly lower than even MTN 350.
As for data bundles on MTN Anytime you cannot buy those with airtime and you can be sure they'll either charge you extra on your monthly bill (even if you're on top up) or else the bundle was never activated.
