Mtn service not working ?

Woke up this morning and my phone just says my service has been suspended !

is this a problem or did they just stuff up my account ?
 
well seems only me :/ and ive been on hold for like 2 hours now :/
 
Same here, i cant get through to the call center, and i cant make calls, check balances or access 3G. I can receive sms's as well as calls though. Came here for a solution. MTN reps?
 
ya i can receive calls and sms's but not make anything :/ just says service suspended contact your SP.

and 808 the operators never answer !!!

I have the same problem. Thought my handset is bonkers... might thanks to whomever started this thread, im not the only one!

is it unique to MTN blackberry, or all handsets? would be nice to know.

I have been using my phone just morning. Just tried it again & it seems to work just fine.
 
i have a blackberry :/ but i put my sim card in the omnia, and its the same story.

its obviously something to do with BIS or something ? they screwed up big.
 
ok blackberry people on MTN, please confirm your location and if you can make calls...

Im in Cape Town, in the CBD, and its not working...
 
I'm in Cape Town, using a Bold 2 and I can make calls but can not use the internet or BIS at all.
 
Okay, understandably the MTN customer care lines will be useless now since a million people are holding. But it is too much to ask for MTN to release a public statement on their site when their network iis going to be down for hours?!?! MTN reps, hello?
 
Ahh yes! Working. After holding for 15mins from a telkom line i finally went through. They said "problem" was my credit limit was exceeded and they had to raise it. But they cut me off without prior warning.
Im using Nokia X6, so not a blackberry problem!

Well my GF is having the same issue with her service being suspended for no reason and she is on one of those cheap R100 top-up contracts so over-extending her credit limit cant be the problem... If you have a look at here http://www.hellopeter.com/search_results.php?search=mtn most of the complaints there are about services being suspended for no reason...
 
Well it can still be, did she load additional services like databundle etc?
 
Nope, and she just got an SMS from MTN apologising for the incorrect suspension of services for some of their clients... So definitely an MTN issue.

Would love to know how many subscribers MTN wrongfully suspended services for today...
 
i have the same problem , all my services suspended for NO reason ,account is up to date , 808 promised me on 3 occasions that the suspension is lifted , still same problem , MTN WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
