MTN slashes ad-hoc data prices

MTN takes over Afrihost - concern that the latter will decline. Former improves. Shock all around.

Does this mean that the prolific OOBshark is slowly being brought under control?

"As of the 1st of June 2014, existing Top Up customers who upgrade or new customers signing up on MTN AnyTime Top Up or MTN Off Peak Top Up price plans will also benefit from a standard 79c per MB for ad-hoc data usage."

So people who signed up in May 2014 are locked into R2 per MB still for 2 years? Unlucky for them if that's the case.

This is good news, but what we actually want is to be able to use Afrihost data on prepaid MTN sim cards.
