MTN Speed Test Results

Ok, I'm not too clued up on speed and latency issues.

Download Speed: 16.87 Mbps
Ping: 158 ms

To JHB Server.
 
ok now my speeds with mtn sim card and mtn e270 modem is . damm the ping is 144 ms. not faster than voda.

That's with my Omnia on Bluetooth to my PC, but the Omnia's in the car beside my room :D

Not too shabby I reckon :D

Hey....

So I've come on here to see if someone can tell me why my connection is so slow all of a sudden.? I'm with MTN and stay in Pretoria (Hatfield) and connect to the internet with my phone using a USB connection. Just over 2 weeks ago i was getting download speeds of about 1.6Mbps (min) 2.9Mbps (max) and basically a constant upload 0.3Mbps to the JHB server with a ping of about 250-350ms. Now, the last few days, it's been D: 0.10Mbps, U: 0.33Mbps and ping: 229ms

I tested it in Richards Bay (don't know why it says 50km) and this is what i got a week ago and got:

I've got up-to-date anti-virus and spyware protection and it's neither of those. Can somebody please tell me why my connection is so slow? I'm getting gatvol!

Now, 20min later on the same phone same everything i get this:

What's up with the instability??????

Oh, and stupid question, why when i go to "My Results" at speedtest.net is there results from my IP address if i didn't run a test?

So this is pretty good right? I'm in Richards Bay [Birdswood area] Acording to MTN coverage map I don't have coverage. I got this speed with a 3 out of 6 bar signal. Vodacom gives me 2.7kbs download speed. I have ZERO vodacom edge/3g/hsdpa only GPRS. Vodacom Suck!
