MTN System Interface to ALL Banks Broken ???

OK, so on the 28th August, I purchase a MTN 200GB Super Data bundle from Capitec for R499. On the Capitec side everything looks ok, the money goes off and everything seems fine.

But nothing happens on the MTN side, no data arrives.

Now I must emphasize, MTN's Customer Support is beyond shyte, I try everything, WhatsApp (hopeless !!!), e-mail support, etc. But nothing new here, their CS has always been really poor.

Capitec says I must wait 2 days and get back to them.

Try everyone again this morning, after a long time on the phone get through to a MTN support person. She says that that the systems interface between ALL banks and MTN is broken, and I need to wait until 1 September, then it will all go through.

BTW, I did send R5 Airtime through as a test, and that did go through, so maybe the problem is just WRT to data ? Who knows ?

Anyone else have this problem, or know something about this ?

So R499 payment to MTN is gone, out of my bank, but not registered to MTN.

I can make small airtime payments that go through, so there is nothing wrong with the details that I provide for the payment.
 
i purchased data this morning, with no issues? (from FNB)
 
I don't see how Capitec can just wash their R5 bank hands of this.
 
MTN's MOMO also not paying out Lottery winnings properly. Keep having to check up on them :mad:

The reason for this has to do with the fact that many of these banks interface with BLUE LABEL for the handling of prepaid airtime. And that system does go down from time to time.

System problems are one thing, but they also have zero Customer Service.

BTW, MTN say that they have had these problems with most banks.

Of course, as MTN does not have functioning Customer Service (they have never had that), it makes it difficult to resolve this issue.

I went to MTN for this data bundle as their data services often work well, and it was for a reasonable price. I have tested RAIN, never seems to work for me.
 
So, in another discussion with MTN Customer Support, they say that there is some intermediary between Capitec and MTN (Blue ??? something), and that is probably where the problem lies.

Does anyone know about this, and who this company is ? How do I contact them, considering that MTN and Capitec does nothing.

BTW, Capitec eventually refunded me, I presume that was an admission that the problem was a failure on their part, and not MTN.

I did not get any feedback, just a refund.
