Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can get directly hold of MTN's technical support guys? I can't go through call centers as I doubt they would understand the problem I'm having.

FYB, I need to do some trouble shooting. I got an Afrihost sim and my Hauwei E392u-12 LTE modem fails to register on their network so I can't connect (on neither EDGE, 3g or LTE). I've got a Hauwei E1820 which works perfectly with the sim, but no LTE of course. At the same time, I've got a CellC sim and Vodacom sim which works perfectly with the E392. So for some reason the E392 and Afrihost sim is bombing out.....

Thanks!

Hi ednavid,
I have exactly the same modem and the same problem, have you found a solution yet?

Which AH sim do you have?

AHguy has mentioned, in various threads, that the first lot of sims were not LTE enabled.
The later sims are LTE enabled, however you need to call AH to activate it.

So permitting you have a 2nd batch sim and you have called AH, you should have LTE.

Hi Venomous, I had one of the early SIMs that was not LTE capable, it worked perfectly on 3G only in the E392.
I have now obtained an LTE capable SIM and the E392 wont register on any network unless i select WCDMA only.
Was told yesterday that I must wait 72 hours for LTE to be provisioned. Will wait for that and see what happens.

Hi have the LTE sim. Even confirmed with AH. The problem is that the sim does not even connect to 3g or edge with that specific modem. The two seem to be allergic to each other....

Please read my previous post...

Call AH and ask them to provision/activate the LTE as it is not auto done.

Done that long time ago..... As mentioned, none of the services works using that modem. When I plug the sim into that another modem, 3g and edge works perfectly.

I can confirm that I had the same problem, AH had to ask MTN to provision my SIM for LTE, took nearly a week but now it works perfectly.
LTE really flies.
