MTN to officially launch out-of-bundle data blocking

It shouldn't be opt-out of OOB charges. It should be assumed you want the block and you have to opt-in to remove it

This feature should be a standard from all providers and has been available for at least 2 years from MASCOM in Botswana
Telkom doesn't do automatic OOB, one of the reasons I moved to them.

It means whatever the contract you signed says.

Moral of the story - if/when you get a message... opt-out.
It's ambiguous. It says "same terms and conditions applicable under in-bundle usage". So if the contract (or prepaid bundle) is 10c/MB in bundle it should still be 10c/MB out of bundle.

For once we are on the same page. No wonder it's so warm, snow will be falling soon. :)

Has this been launched on MTN yet?

If I buy a new MTN sim today and Rica it and load R100 airtime and and I want to allow OOB, how do I activate it?

Instructions for blocking:

Dial *141#

0. More
4. OOB
1. Data
2. No, Block

Response: "You are now blocked from using OOB Data"
