Hey guys, a friend of mine is planning to get the mtn uncapped lite router for gaming.

Will it be fast enough for World of warcraft, and also would it be fast enough for ps3 gaming??

Any objections towards this package?? 8ta is out of the question.

Currently playing diablo III, average ping is around 350 to EU server. Low is around 250 and high is around 1k.

Does Diablo 3 have lag if you play single player only? I know it has to be always online to play, but do you lag when playing single player?

synaamwas it's good if u still have 3GB left and u have full signal.
I am playing BF3 at the moment on uncapped light and getting a standard ping of 150 on SA servers <day time>.
It sometimes jumps to 1300 ping for some reason but only for a moment.
At night the signal is the best and i get ping of 60 <smooth gaming."ALL THIS SPEEDS I HAVE GIVEN IS WHEN I'M THROTTLED."
When i am not throttled the connection is a bit better and it does not do ping jumping.
!!!!Important i am on full signal ,so if u have even less than full signal on it then forget the contract and get vodacom.<If vodacom has no signal ,well then theres no hope.

You feel very little lag until around 400ms, then it gets progressively unplayable.

No:

After the Fair usage, which is about 1GB i think, you get throttled to 256kbps. Rather get a 1mbps uncapped ADSL.

I heard a few people complaining about the ADSL 1mbps.
Heard it was too slow and u get really slow speeds sometimes.:)

I have played WoW (while throttled) and it was quite fine. Had minimal lag issues etc. I have full signal here though, so it is quite stable as well - just not between 17:00 and 19:00 during the week, I think that is just a high-load time period in my area though.

No idea how it is on PS3, I presume it would be a similar experience to PC gaming?

3GB FUP - just FYI :)

It is almost unplayable for me!!
I'm on MTN 3G uncapped lite, and I have not had one round where it was not lagging like crazy
Everything is server dependent in my lagging experience, drawing game areas, monstewr hits, loot drops, shifting stuff in your inventory, shops, talking to NPC's, monster awareness, picking up stuff

monster awareness with lag screenshot
They just stand there and so I hit them and walk away, just to be thrown back to them after a few seconds

I am lucky in that I live quite close to MTN head office, so even capped my ping with Diablo 3 averages around 300ms when throttled.
Will go to low 200's and spike to 400 every now and then, but is very consistent for the most part.
