Hey all, sorry to complain and you having to read it but I am at my wits end trying to get MTN to reset my uncapped lite data every 14th of the month. It just never happens and I have to write in and complain before anyone decides to do something about it. I have no idea what legal action I can take but this is seriously starting to do my head in.

I make sure I only use up the 3gb fair use data by the last day before it is supposed to be reset, so I am very careful with my downlaods, updates etc etc. You see, I need a fast connection for my new business and cannot have 40kb/s, it just does not work. I would get the 10gb uncapped is I saw this uncapped plan working but so far it is driving me nuts. I know there are other networks but for some strange reason only Vodacom and MTN work at my residence. I am not far from Cape Town, just 50km up the coast and my MTN reception shows -89dbm, which is pretty decent and results in full signal bars when using my samsung galaxy s3. I use my MTN data sim in the usb dongle that is capable of 27mb/s, when they are not throttling the life out of me, I get 17.5MB/S!! But then each month they start throttling and it takes like 15 days for them to sort out whatever technical issue is going on.

The worst is, when I send a complaint I get some copy paste answer, asking me what the weather was like during the slow connection, what time of day it was and if I was surrounded by any buildings. I mean, really, what is next, a question about if the aliens where siphoning my connection speed to fuel their flux capacitator?

Oh well, I am sorry to winge a bit and I have looked for a thread dealing with this but the thread is ancient. If anyone knows of what legal action I can take to get them in big, big trouble(I keep a meticulous record of data speeds and quatity of mb download/uploads, so I have proof), please let me know? Also, if anyone has had a similar experience and got it resolved please tell me your secret. And, yes I have thought of ADSL but heck, what a mission, dealing with Telkom, to come put in the lines, it would be easier and less painful surgically implanting a sim card in my skull bone. Awesome everyone and thanks for the kiff site.

Mine resets automatically, but never on the same day of the month, normally anywhere between the 10th and the 25th
