Has anyone else noticed, in the recent past, that their MTN voicemail/voice mailbox has changed?

This number's voicemail always had a personal recorded greeting in the past couple of decades, but now without any intervention, callers are being greeted by "the number XXXXXXXXXX is not available, please leave a message after the tone" after calls aren't answered on the handset.

Also, when dialling 132 to get to the voicemail "backend" the other day, it prompted to "set up voice mailbox", rather than just going straight giving the menu options to listen to messages, settings, etc.

A bit strange, just wondering if anyone else noticed the same with their MTN voicemail?

Exactly the same experience. Custom greeting deleted. New system by the sounds of it.

There is also a weird background noise on the greeting you make.

Thanks for the response, glad to know its more widespread.

Yea I also thought the same about a new system, since the TTS/automated number readouts also sound different.. much slower I think. "0.....8.....3......."

Hi has anyone found a way to manage this difficulty? MTN support centres said phone 135. None of the options take me to a real live person or a possible solution.

So 132 allows for setting up voicemail. However when someone calls in it doesnt pay and the message .
played to the incoming caller is "your request cannot be completed at the moment" and then cut off.

Any suggestions gratefully received thanks.

It was resolved for me without my intervention - not sure of when exactly that happened.

@happytraveller Did you get sorted out? Once upon a time I could speak to a real live support agent, and they sorted things out. Now it's just menus from hell or chatbots that only solve the basic queries. And hang you out to dry otherwise.
Makes me feel quite antique :)
