MTN Wifi calling on iPhone

Mine are both eSim's, MTN just cannot load VoWiFi on them , the system keeps on rejecting the provisioning.

My Vodacom eSim has this issue , outgoing calls work.
Can't receive incoming.
 
Any MWeb ISP users here using MTN VoWifi ?
 
I have a question regarding MTN WiFi calling. Sometimes it activates, while other times it doesn't. Is this the typical behavior for everyone, and does it only activate when the signal is poor?

Mine activates seemlessly when the signal quality drops. You can force it to activate by turning on flight mode.

Yes, when I enable airplane mode, it does force MTN WiFi, so I suppose it is working correctly. Thanks!

Not only your WiFi calling that's no longer working. Mine got blocked again sometime today.

Was testing this yesterday. My neighbours phone is MTN and I find sometimes voice over WiFi works, sometimes not. No such troubles on my Vodacom handset. Within 10s of connecting to WiFi I get voice over WiFi.

Ditch MTN.

I've not had any issues when my phone connects to MTN WiFi calling.
It will auto switch to WiFi calling whenever the tower signal weakens

There might be many factors at play, perhaps yesterday was an exception? Will check with him today.

MTN is definitely blocking your IP , the reason it initially connects then disappears.

Well it works when it appears, but if we turn off wifi or connect to another point, it doesn't appear again. It worked once in 5 tries.

It will not work with WiFi disabled, you need a WiFi connection for it to work.

It didn't last very long. MTN is back to their old tricks. My MWeb , IP range has been blacklisted :(

Yes lol. What I was saying is... while testing, the phone+wifi icon appeared once... and it worked. Then we disabled and re-enabled wifi, but it refuses to reappear - on the same wifi network it was working on before. We tried both wifi networks but no go... we tried in flight mode (all radios except wifi disabled), but no go.
On the same LAN, my Vodacom phone picks up voice over Wifi within 10 seconds of connecting to wifi with or without GSM+LTE radios disabled.

MWeb renews your IP every couple of hours. Whenever the IP is renewed , the WiFi icon pops up then disappears, this is because a new IP was allocated , MTN detects the new IP then blocks it as it is listed as blacklistist on their IP tables.

Rinse and repeat.
 
VoWIFI always worked on my fibre connection (CISP on my android phone) but in the past couple of days it's been missing. It recently also started working on the work wifi which it never did before but now it's completely gone.

Update :

WiFi calling is working again. Speculating MTN had back end issues.
