Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I saw some other Wifi calling posts here.
We recently suffered a DDOS attack, and in the end moved part of our network to a different Public IP. (IP with Openserve)
The firewall that IP goes out through has also had some tighter restrictions placed on outgoing DNS.
Since then MTN wifi calling stopped working. It started working after a couple of days, then went intermittend after some days and now is again not working. Vodacom Wifi calling works fine. If we move the people who complain over to a different part of the network, using another public IP for internet access, the wifi calling works. Move them back over and it stops working.
The only differences between the two are the public IP and the stricter rules on outgoing DNS. The firewall provider told us that the firewall can't cause the issue, we must ask Openserve(Owner of the IP) to whitelist the IP with MTN. Openserve replied with a criptic answer, stating the IP is routed only to us. Finally got ahold of someone at MTN that seems to know what they are talking about, but he said it couldn't be blacklisting, otherwise it would never have worked. They wouldn't give me any contact details, said they would escalate the issue and come back to me. So far nothing has happened yet.
Between Openserve, MTN and our firewall provider it seems nobody is going to solve the problem for us. I want to see if maybe I can in my ignorance try and find out what is causing the issues, but I have no knowledge of how Wifi calling works. It seems an IPSEC connection needs to be established, but I cant see how our current setup would stop MTN's from working but leaving Vodacom's fine. Is it possible that certain DNS servers need to be reachable for it to work? Or can anyone give me some guidance on how to try and find the cause of the problem.
Thanks
