MTN wont let me port

Hi guys,

I'm a prepaid customer on MTN, and i'm trying to port to Melon mobile [ Btw their customer service is next level ] But MTN won't let me port away, it says I have bills that are unpaid?? I'm on prepaid so i don't know how this is possible?

I phoned MTN to confirm and the agent told me I don't owe anything and that I can just port away, that I should just restart the phone and all that jazz so I'm not sure what to do next?

Does anyone here have a contact at MTN that can actually do something? Thanks guys.

Nor will @cavedog be able to assist with this, i tried to help my gran with MTN Flex and it was 3 months of non stop we escilated the matter will give feedback. Ended up moving the number to Mellon my gran is happy and MTN still have not gotten back to me... Will say even if you try and call their custmer care on a prepaid sim talking to someone is near impossible vs vodacom its a breeze usually.
 
For most problems I find it best to go to one of their stores.

Their Sonieke store by me is so clueless and they're really rude as well, they just tell me to phone 135..

Eish this sounds awful, I left Vodacom to come to MTN which was headaches from day 1... They literally barred all my incoming and outgoing calls on a new contract they gave me and it was also so much back and forth, speaking to maybe 50 people until I ended up at 1 gentleman that could assist and find the issue.

Why can't Melon simply assist with this? They want your business!

They have checked on their end and they are in contact with MTN as well trying to see. Melon so far has 11/10 from my side, super happy with them.
