i have the same one......but i find myself using xp much more than vista atm....so hope you installed it on a different partition :p ....the software availability etc isnt great for vista atm.......in like a months time hopefully much much more software for vista wil be available

From what I read, MTN have been part of the Vista beta-testing scene for a while now.
So if it fails can we blame MTN :D

You're off to test Vista ? Microsoft's latest bugfree offering ?

Cheers MTNDD, see you sometime next year...:D

Good day,

All

I'm not happy to report the final addition has the following problems on my IBM Z60t

I've got a 2.00 GHz and 1 GB of RAM with a IntelR 915GM/GMS, 910ML Express chipset graphics card with 128mb of Ram with a 100GB hard drive

Visuals didn't work, sound card didn't work and a couple of work applications didn't work so I'm back to XP until I can convince my boss to sign off a IBM Z61t Intel Core Duo then I'll try again. But for now XP will have to do

Eight hours and forty six minutes later...

I must say I'm not keen on Microsoft's latest offering, I don't know what they're thinking with all the new restrictions in their EULA, DRM and releasing six different versions of the damn thing.

I think my next computer will run a 64-bit Linux and XP in a virtual machine for the things I need Windows for, and I'm not even a Linux geek, I'm a double MCSE and an MCDBA.

Exactly what I want to do, ubuntu with vmware and xp 'contained' in a little box. The only thing I need to do now is to get a new laptop with a bit of umf and away we go. One thing to remember is that getting your e620 to work will take a bit of work, have not managed to get mine working in linux yet (but I have not tried very hard)

I think Vista is like the P990i's software - when it got released, it was buggy & no software applications.

Once it 'matured', things got better.

I've downloaded the Vista Transformation Pack 5.5 for XP and more than happy to wait for Vista SP1. :)

Okay here's the strange thing I loaded Vista on my HP NX8220 and it's working like a bomb and it's a earlyier version than my IBM

Ah!

You know the golden rule in I.T. - if it's not broken, don't try to fix it!

:)

Well as long as it's running somewhere :D

See now you can use that as proper proof that you need a new PC mtndd :D

Like it said, Linux is for a person who still holds a grudge against Microsoft for releasing Windows 3.1 & Windows Me + the dreaded 'exception error has occurred'.

Others, like myself, just enjoy the fruit of their labour - and it's called Windows XP*! ;)

*Soon to be Windows Vista!

I wouldn't mind trying Linux just looks a little complex
