Hi,

Has anyone recently used MTNSP's insurance provider for a claim? I've been trying over the last month to actually get through to someone on the single contact number the call centre keeps on giving me and the phone just rings and rings - 45 minutes at a time. Not once has anyone actually picked up the phone!

One way to keep claims down ... don't answer the phones!

Good Afternoon,

Kindly supply your cell number.

Lumia,

You expect me to provide a number to you in an open forum? This being your first post and without you even giving any indication as to why you want my number and subsequently, who you represent when asking for that? Not gonna happen ...

Now here's a golden tip for anyone who wants to take out insurance on their mobile phone....

Phone your insurance company first! I phoned Santam and discovered that they're actually cheaper than Vodacom's insurance.

And the service is also much better. ;)

He doesn't even have a red nick to show that he is a company rep!

Most probably Nigerians busy with a new scam.

In terms of price, I found it to the be the other way around.

In terms of service - I cannot argue there. Never again will I do insurance through a service provider.

When I insured my iPhone with Santam, it was actually R11 per month cheaper, so a R264 saving over two years.

But the peace of mind when insuring your stuff with Santam is priceless.

also trying to get hold of mtnsp insurance and the number listed on their website has been discontinued .... very shoddy for such a large company!!

my claim was admitted, MTN is supposed to fetch the device, its almost two weeks now, no avail ... The call center number is useless, drops calls ALL THE TIME

avoid MTNSP insurance, horrible experience and terrible service from them.
Too late i suppose, have a device lying in my draw which i cant use, still have a year to pay off the contract ... I at least need this fixed before i switch to a different insurer ...

You can stop the insurance at any time and have the handset insured privately. There is no contract obligation with insurance.

I meant the MTN contract, if i stop insurance with an unfixed phone then am paying for an unused device
