Agreed. Fingers crossed they don't end up with some extremist group running the place. The last thing we need is another Iran.
 
Interesting times we are living... The Muslim Brotherhood has promised to keep peace with Israel. Whilst not as powerful as they were before, they still wield influence, who knows if they eve get the main seat in government. Egypt's dwindling secularism is a cause for concern as well.

Not always. The egyptian military so far has been pretty good. If they handle it like the Turkish military handles things then all should be ok.

For what it's worth, Wikipedia suggests the Muslim Brotherhood are not that militant, and prefer a more peaceful existence.
 
Poor Americans. They tried to change but it has all come to naught.
As they say, the more it changes the more it stays the same.
 
Actually, I think you will find that Obama made a phone call to Mubarak on Thursday night. The next day he stepped down.

According to Hamas' own covenant they are the Palestinian wing of the Muslim Brotherhood

Would like to see the same in the brutal arab regimes such as Iran and Syria, but there they have no problem killing a few citizens to keep hold of power.
Not much noise was made of the fact that Syria brought in loads of Hizbullah thugs to "protect" government buildings in case the army took the side of the civillians, but that demonstation fizzled out, pobably because of that.

And we all know what happened in Iran 2009.............and yet monkey boy claims to be on the side of the demonstrators, what a two faced pig.

Interesting times lie ahead for Egypt, it is not going to be easy for the new government to recover let alone run the largest Arab country with a huge poor population.

Lol. Millions of Egyptians seem to disagree, but I guess some people don't associate a countries success with the success/happiness of the people who actually live there.

It seems that you have an opinion of me, probably wrong but why should that stop you.

Its amazing how all the ppl on the forum that slated the islamic worlds rulers (some rightfully so), never seeme dto care for Egypt. Now that the ppl have spoken all of a sudden there is no hope.

Wake up and smell what ur shovelling, you cannot have it both ways. Egypt is a soverign nation and as such can make its own decisions.

I'm glad for the Egyptian people, of all faiths. I am also concerned for the future of the region, should Islamic hardliners shuffle into leadership.

Yes, Egypt can make it's own decisions. So too Algeria, Tunisia, Jordan and now Yemen also. Let's see which decisions they make...
