Hey All,

Got a bit of a question, looking to shed some extra poundage.

I love muesli and want to know if I eat muesli and skim milk 3 times a day for a couple weeks will I lose weight?

Will take Vitamins and My normal Weigh protein and such.

Thanks Guys.

It will definitely work, but only if you replace the muesli with cardboard, and the skim milk with water.

You basically just eating carbs - so i would say probably not - you have a better chance if you lived on your protein shake only.

Both options would be wrong.

Balanced diet is the way to go. Go see a dietician. Some exercise would make a big difference too.

Darn Ok.

I currently do a 6 day 60 Minute work out, works well just looking to shed some difficult weight.

Yeah, it should work. Just remember to take the raisins out the muesli - dry raisins are known to make you fat and excessive consumption of them can lead to headaches and other painful experiences.

It depends what kind of muesli you're going to be eating. American style where it's all stuck together and honeyroasted and stuff is probably not much better than junk food. Swiss style where you have pure oats won't be too bad. It's not going to make much difference to your weight loss though. You need to pay more attention to size of portions, and your main dish - cut out carbs, eat skinless chicken, fish, lean mince, less pasta, less white rice, less white bread, more veg esp broccoli and carrots, you'll be good.

+1. not all mueslis are created equal.
just learn to read nutritional labels.
that's a good place to start.
bearing in mind that it's not just about kilojoules, but that satiety and fibre also play an important part in both the rate of absorption of energy and the resumption of hunger.

adding onto cerebus' point, if you must pasta use wholewheat pasta, if u must rice, use brown rice, if you must bread use low gi/wholewheat. increase fiber and fresh fruit intake, instead of eating a packet of jelly babies just rather eat grapes or an apple to satisfy your sweet tooth.

breakfast is important dude don't skip that ****

also canned tuna in salt water

I follow Weight Watchers. Everything has a point score allocated to it, and you get a certain amount of points to eat per day. Muesli is a lot of points in comparison with other cereals like Corn Flakes, All bran flakes.. even the sugary rubbish is less points than Muesli.

So no, just eating Muesli will not help you lose weight. You will not be providing your body with all the varied things it needs to function properly. That has to be the dumbest idea ever.

Want to lose weight? Stop eating chips, drinking fizzy drinks, stay away from processes carbs, especially at night. Eat more vegetables, drink more water. Eat more fruit, and always choose the low-fat or fat-free options. Reduce your meat intake. Deskin your chicken. Stay away from fried stuff, especially deep-fried or crumbed stuff. Don't eat anything that doesn't have nutritional information on it. Write down what you eat and drink and the associated kilojoule and saturated fat amounts. You'll soon notice what is a lot of kJs and fat for little "feel full" value. Eat a large breakfast, a medium lunch, and a small supper.

Drink more water. Do some exercise. Even just 15min a day will help. Run on the spot, do lunges, sit-ups - anything that gets your body moving and your heartrate up. Don't need fancy equipment or a gym membership to exercise. Dance around naked in the house listening to music.

Edit: See you said already that you're exercising. Good. Keep it up.
