Muhammad Ali dies, aged 74

Re the rope-a-dope, Ali was not the first to use it. He was the first to popularize it.

It used to be called the tactic of "playing possum".

he never trained under water. these were just a series of photos for publicity when he was banned from boxing when he refused to go to vietnam.

I said that already. My point is its intelligence that comes up with a lie like that. And also the pictures were published when he was 19 years old , way before he was banned.

Why are you not saying why you think he was not intelligent ? As far as i know IQ tests dont reflect intelligence.

IQ is but one measure of intelligence, it is not the be all and end all though.

So Ali having an IQ of 78 is inconsequential because:
1. They are inaccurate.
2. He didn't want to go to VietCong.

RIP Champ

many chess players with high IQs can only play chess

Bobby Fisher being the most famous example

Busy watching "Muhammad Ali. In their own words" currently streaming on the PBS channel. Pretty good.

When I was a kid In Malawi, we had no TV, no internet, no cellphones. You could ask a kid in a village which had no electricity or telephone lines he would know Mohammed Ali, Pele and later Maradonna.

To have such a reach at a time like that was nothing short of spectacular

Did "The Greatest" pay Bill Clinton in advance for the speech or the estate will pay him ?
