MultiChoice expects stabilised operating environment

MultiChoice chief financial officer Tim Jacobs believes that volatile external economic factors that negatively impacted the entertainment giant's business in the past two years are stabilising.

In an interview with MyBroadband about the company's 2025 financial year results, Jacobs explained the DStv owner had to contend with various issues in some of its key markets.

I would have thought that people who are finding themselves with more disposable income would be using it to get rid of debt to free up even more disposable income, not spending it on services they do not really need or rely on.

I'm not a fan of DSTV but to be completely unbiased, the R399 Compact streaming package does seem like good value for money if you don't care about rugby, cricket or golf but enjoy soccer, boxing, MMA and American sports like I do.

I actually want to watch Shaka Ilembe season 2 without waiting months for it on Showmax. DSTV is far from dead if you enjoy African content and soccer.
