MultiChoice scraps porn channel

i think in the long-term, this is a good decision.
there are enough adult shops and people can
also access porn online.

our country already has a high enough rate of
rape, and porn further objectifies women's
bodies

LOL

I bet you buy fhm and fap to porn :D.

Have you ever slept with a female? Does doggystle objectify them?

personally, i think your perspective is rubbish, and honestly do not care if you disagree with me;

porn objectifies women's bodies and does nothing to create respect for women

now think wisely before you post...
They do it voluntarily in exchange for money, nobody forced them into it.

Once again go read the other threads instead of making people repeat themselves.

UK’s lucrative porn trade lures young SA starlets

Weekend Post Correspondents

SOME young South African women are paying for their two-year working holidays in Britain by working in the UK’s porn film industry.

Whereas menial waitressing jobs pay an average of £10 (R111) a day, a day-long shoot for a pornographic film scene generally pays between £250 (R2 750) and £400 (R4 400).

The owner of Beehive Studios in Britain said he hired “many young” South Africans to work in the adult entertainment industry. “You have to be young to be in this business and we get a lot of South Africans to work with us,” said the owner, who did not want to be named.

“We find they are professional and do have a good work ethic. One of our main photographers is a South African.”

the industry is suffering from HIV as well:

Just a quick head's up (I crack me up), there aren't only women in porn. Ever heard of gay porn? Objectifying men's bodies! For shame!

To quote you, think wisely before you post.

What is pathetic is equating porn with rape.

Do some research and try not to just read the first and last paragraphs.

The stuff in the middle usually is the most important.

just found this from a concerned partner who happens to be female:

A female Canada age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I found out that my husband looks up hardcore porn. His favourite sites are "rape porn" where women are shown to be attacked and brutally treated. I'm completely repulsed by this and feel sick to my stomach that anyone would be excited by this type of thing.

He says he will stop but I found out that he is still going to these sites.

Should I leave him?

btw, did any1 stand the chance of losing out on $$$ coz DSTV said "no"...?

Funny how she doesn't mention whether he rapes her after watching them.

ps: dearcupid.org is the new standard in porn research ?:erm:

No. Most people would have a wider understanding of how laughable the idea is that porn objectifies women's bodies. The same can be said about models who exploit their bodies to earn an income as well. There is no correlation between porn and sexual violence. As Nerfherder said, there is more evidence pointing towards the opposite being true.

By jumping into a thread based on a subject which has been debated for the last two or three weeks and mouthing off absolute ignorance only serves to show a blatant disregard for debate and a necessity to simply say, "This is how I feel, **** you all and your reasons, I'm right and only me."

There is a point in every debate where if one is incapable of seeing the opposition's reasoning, incapable of seeing or understanding that there is a perfect compromise which can be reached and simply agreeing to disagree, then one is doing nothing more than trying to force one's ignorant ideologies (trolling) in a closed-minded and ultimately meaningless manner.

In other words, everyone here has much better things to do with their time than play spoon-feed-the-troll.

Agreed. Did she ask herself if he is a violent person? Did she ask herself if he's ever raped her or anyone before? Funny, one might even argue that such simulated porn is what stops someone with that fetish from actually going out and raping someone. *shrug*

honestly, there you are speaking of yourself...and you should seriously think about that

and what a f'd up forum, if just because people discussed things previously, another user

cannot express his views...

i refuse to agree with the lot

For valid reasons which you repeatedly insist in ignoring.

Actually it does, you can't just keep repeating the same rubbish and not expect a backlash... that is trolling.
