MultiChoice takes on illegal streaming sites

Good luck MC! I am not using any proxies or other software. Come find me and try what you want. No crime has been committed and any actions will be met with civil claims afterwards.

MultiChoice has warned those setting up illegal streaming sites for the Rugby World Cup that they are actively being hunted down.

But this I do agree with. It is illegal to setup a streaming website and sell subscriptions and access to streams.

It is pretty much like any other piracy offense. It is illegal to sell or making it available or distributing it, but it is not a crime in SA to buy it, be in possession of it, use it wear it or watch it.

Good luck Mc..

Most of the sites aren't south African and couldn't care less about your threats
True. If MC goes after a site that's not hosted in RSA, I can't see them victorious.

But methinks it's more a scare tactic, they know the casual person will read their BS and will be scared into getting a Premium Prescription. The more hardcore person will see their BS for the BS that it is.

Lol. Premium medicine will cure their fears :D

"He also said that civil lawsuits, criminal prosecutions, and ongoing tech upgrades are a few of the tools they use to tackle the issue."

Tools which clearly doesn't working, but they don't consider options like making access to Rugby affordable.

I am going to be honest, I not particularly fond of the amount of airtime MC gets whether directly or indirectly......

Sounds like the government saying of the department of defense hackers "We will take them to court" lol.
The only reason they caught some hackers is because the slipped up, the assumption it is "easy" to catch them, while not hacking related it took ages for example to take down the silk road and they only managed it because of a slip up.
