Muslim Groups Attempt to Censor Wikipedia

All this reminds me of what a priest told me once...He knew a couple that got devorced just over some dirty socks in the bathroom...can you believe it :D
 
So, the muslims want the picture removed from the world 'cause it's banned according to their faith - what's next? Remove any non-halaal food from the earth? kill all pigs and burn the meat so there is no more to save them the off-chance of encountering it?

They (all religions) come up with ***** like this and then demand respect? Fooking idiots.
 
Actually wikipedia WOULD be bowing to them if they took the picture down.

How would you like it if the Catholic church asked the wiki to take down any mention of the Crusades because it casts the church in a bad light, and does not represent the organisation they currently are? The catholic church could easily say that "mentioning the crusades" is a sin.

Would you be ok with that? Your dead people being forgotten because it offends someone else?

Wikipedia contains NON BIASED info about things. If they were biased opinions then the wiki is as useless as a midget in a "getting stuff off a high shelf" contest. THE PICTURE EXISTS, WE DONT CARE IF YOU ARE INSULTED AND WANT TO HIDE INFO.

How many Islamists have to look up Mohammed on wiki to find out who he is anyway? I would think it would be people who DONT think of him as a prophet that would be the ones who are trying to find out more!

I think Islamists only went to that wiki to look for something to complain about :rolleyes: It seems like something all religions have in common.
 
Well even if the info is non-biased, how ACCURATE is it?

Is the picture just somebodies perception of what Muhammad looked like based on a list of his bodily features published in literature or was it actually drawn 1400 years ago while Muhammad was still alive?

Honestly what's the point. What do you get out of publishing a picture of Muhammad, except offending Muslims so why do it?

Quite interesting is the fact that one of the pictures of Muhammed displayed on Wikipedia is from a 15th century manuscript written by - dum dum dum dum - a Muslim.

While I do think the Muslim people are entitled to request it's removal I think Wikipedia is entitled to (and should) tell them no.
 
What i would like to know, do the Muslims want ALL the pics removed, or just the one of Alaha ( which i couldnt find anyways ).

You really should start from post one and gain an understanding of the topic being discussed.

As per the initial post the outcry is over representations of Muhammad (from my rudimentary understanding of Islam . . Allah is God and Muhammad his prophet.)
 
Still it says "immages of Muhammand"...There are pics of a church's inside as well...what i meant by ALL pics...is exactly it...ALL pics, or just pics ( all ) of Mohammed

i am not sure what wiki should see as true or not, but wikipedia is based in USA which has freedom of speech, something that muslims don't understand, the way muslims understand the world is that if it says something against Islam, it is wrong and should be banned. if we are going to allow this, we can't have an objective debate, and that will not be freedom of speech.
