Mustek forecasts better, cheaper broadband in SA

I guess they are looking at it like this...

Cheaper Broadband = More users signing up for internet services.
More users signing up for internet services = More orders of hardware, accessories, new computers.

Which is very true, they will see an increase of sales when the decrease of Broadband starts until competition like Dell/HP decide to buy them out. :) They need to enjoy the money now, it won't last forever.

Agreed,im very glad to see such an optimistic view from Mustek.

Uncapped prices halving from its current state really does give a little wood........:love:
 
Uncapped pricing is fine. They need less restrictive fups before price drops.
 
Its good to see a local Distrib having these views :), so what do the other Distrib have to say in lite of this, Mr Esquire :D

Perhaps this will drive down and bring more competition in the local hardware pricing eh, HDD especially like we saw with the Toshiba 3.5" Ext @ R999.00 incl @ Game eish & Sahara's Core i7 at just over R2000excl
 
If Mustek predicted that Telkom was going to slash in half its line and ADSL rentals, plus its IPC costs, then one could take the story seriously. As it is, all the barriers that are currently in place, will still be in place going forward. This is just poorly informed spin to appease shareholders and potential Mustek investors.
 
Mustek does Mecer right....and Mecer is a South African built brand? Perhaps they should be a little more aggresive with THEIR pricing. Times are tough....people are struggling and new computers nad laptops is not high on the list of things to do. Besides, a while ago I looked at Mecer and Proline pricing....I could not see a lot of difference in pricing compared to better known, more trusted international brands....of sit ek nou die pot heeltemal mis??? :-)
 
If Telkom half their line rental we will see at least 50% MORE ZA online usage.

It's marketing, people ... that's called an emotional manipulation ploy, out of a psychology textbook, and it's designed to make you think/feel that, it's not based on reality. Their business is based here, they can hardly say what they really think, can they?
