IIRC COD 4 sold like 13 million copies, because it was simple, robust, and people just enjoyed playing it.
with cod 6, if they sell over 4 million copies I'd be impressed... oh, wait, sadly the countries that buy most of these games have decent internet, so this game will also sell millions upon millions...
Personally, I think we South African's just get farked over one in every conceivable manner.

Amen to that, and we are too small to be on their radar, im sure if we all bought a copy of mw2, and the guys hosting did the same over here, we could use the pirated versions and give THEM the finger when they threaten a law suite.
They have not given any technical details on how IW.net is going to work. (Hopeful speaking). If it works like heroes of Newerth maybe a Local IW.net can be setup in SA?

Actually I wouldnt stress too much guys... Im sure one of the Major guys are going to approach IW and end up hosting an IW server here... This game is too big for everyone to not make a plan... Telkoms entire gaming campaign is based on MW1, they would be stupid not to organise with IW to host MW2 aswell...
iGame has already organised a HoN server for us and thats still beta and also its the same concept as this whole system.

I reckon alot of pre-orders are getting cancelled as we speak I am canceling 12 just from my side.
Hopefully they will feel the pain and make an exception else all we have left is COD 4 and might I suggest to include different maps to get the competetion up and fresh again for a bit.

Hope so dude, really I do. Lets hope they give a response to the mighty backlash they received from the Internets today.
I would personally hold on to a pre-order untill a proper response comes from IW about this little F$*$($ up.
You know what... We shouldnt be petitioning to IW to get Dedicated servers... Lets petition to SAIX and IS and iGame and A77 to get them to organise with IW to host here... This is far more likely to work!
The only way I will buy this game is if I can play online on a local server.

Agree with Kyubi I reckon we have a big group that will be gladly behind this initiative.
1. Delay
2. Price Hike
3. No Dedicated servers
It is getting worse and worse for them in this country.
I think they will be seeing more Piracy the one thing they tried to counter they just fueled themselves.

Dammit I wonder if Activision would even care about SA, much much more WOW players here, and nothing ever came from that. Activision Blizzard?

Well one good thing came from this.
The shops wont have a problem with stock anymore there will be plenty available for the single player fans if they are willing to fork out that much for a single player title........
I really and truly hope they change their minds and get a sollution for this else I might be afraid its not going to end well for them in this country.
