Mweb 1mb Uncapped or Openweb Gold/Silver??

i do around 85GB's a month, so I wont call myself heavy, rather medium. Basically, anything from 17:00 and weekends is always full speed from my experience.

Thanks for the fast response!

How are their usage regulations? And are you a heavy downloader? Because the most important thing for me is to have a smooth connection while knocking myself out with the downloads~

To be honest, I've had shaping on Mweb during the day on torrents (but that is to be expected).

Otherwise, at night and over the weekends its solid. I've downloaded 87Gb at home via torrents and normal surfing and downloading so far this month - with 257638GB in March alone without any complaints, hassles or other issues with MWEB.

They are (in my opinion) the best value for money and performance offer out there. I'm proud to be an MWEB customer :)
257GB in 1 month, on a 1mb line??

Lol, I doubt that is possible...has to be at least 4mb line~

Just something what I really wanted to hear, so will the Silver account be even smoother for online gaming?

BTW, i'm still loading the page link that you've send me for the 1 meg lite...after numerous refresh

The lite account is nice for gaming, but a nightmare for downloading. I tried it and frustration took me back to gold.
Gaming on OW accounts are dependent on the backbone - some are nice for gaming, some aren't.
Gaming on Mweb is epic, but this is because they give gaming a high priority on the network. Downloading is a breeze too.

+1 for MWEB. They are the true innovators, OW just keeps up (and good on them for doing so) but overall MWEB is a lot more professional. I have also had very little issues with MWEB that weren't a countrywide thing affecting other ISPs whereas I had countless issues with OW when I was with them.

I see, I see...
MWeb seems to be getting more votes these days, but I thought last year after the new usage policies they have become a problem for downloaders?

Because my main focus is more on downloading than gaming...So might take Mweb for a try

Kind Regards

I say stick to Openweb gold if you want something decent.

MWEB!
my torrents alone reach about 150GB per month but can probably reach over 200GB if i leave my pc on
yes there is shaping during office hours but can't say that it affects gaming or normal browsing that much(not that i game or browse too often during office hours)

I also get about 120-150Gb per month on a 1Mbps line and switch my laptop off all day (except weekends).

I had MWEB when they first launched uncapped and it wasn't great. Since then I have been a huge fan of Openweb. This month I made the switch back to MWEB and I must say, they are amazing. The speeds are good, no shaping on newsservers and no problems.

Openweb has great support but I got very tired of emailing them to ask about why it was slow, only to get given another account. MWEB has been a dream so far and I dont see myself moving away from them.

To be honest, I don't mind paying a little more than R200, since I am currently paying R332 exl line rentel for the 1Mb package and my ISP has been throttling my heavily 24/7...So i'm what i'm looking for is the best ISP that doesn't throttle you like crazy if you download too much~ Because on avg I tend to do around 90GB+/- a month.

+/-40-60 kbps

40-60+/- isn't too bad...but does this apply to all download types? HTTP/FTP/Torrent?
Or should I say, which download type effects the most?

Kind Regards
