Mweb 2Mb/s R199 package

Hi Guys

Just doing some research for a friend of mine who is interested in this package. Is its worth it or is the throttling and shaping really bad. His daughter is going to use it for projects and stuff for school.

Or is there any better packages out there for 1meg or meg.

I am using this package. They will throttle the line after you exceed 70Gb.

Shaping, havent really used many services that would get shaped. So cant really say.

I dont have any complaints, its working really well for me.

Didn't Mweb upgrade all their packages? I think they don't have a 1Mb anymore. The 2Mb are now the old 1Mb at the same price?

There are two products available for R199 on their website (check the tabs on the left)
1. Premium Uncapped ADSL 1Mbps
2. Uncapped ADSL 2Mbps

I was on the Premium uncapped ADSL 1Mbps despite telkom upgrading my line.

I had to call to be moved to the standard uncapped 2Mbps for the same price.

If that is all it is going to be used for then capped is an infinitly better option! Something like the WebAfrica 15GB account for R79 would be more than enough:

Uncapped in these situations is just unnessessary and very expensive.

Do you intend on gaming with that connection? Do you download stuff from Steam, PS+? Don't even think about, just get the 2MB Premium Uncapped instead. (R369p/m)

Morning, you would have to request the downgrade to the 2MB standard package.

The 1MB account has a threshold of approximately 100GB and the 2MB standard approximately 70GB. This is the reason we did not do the change automatically.
