I currently have 4MB ADSL.

I currently have a capped account but have been thinking of downgrading the ADSL to 2MB and getting a 2MB uncapped Mweb account.

Would the speed difference from 4MB to 2MB be painful ?

From reading the forum it seems that I will still be able to stream youtube videos and the web browsing speed should still be good?

How's Mweb's 2MB accounts?

My Mweb 1Mb account has been running at 2Mb at times (lots of 1Mb users have been saying this) and when it does, I can easily stream 480p Youtube and almost almost 720p.
Having used a 4Mb line a lot as well as having my 2Mb at home, I'd reckon you can't go wrong with a 2Mb account hey.
I get around 740MB an hour which is ample if you have updates to do.

4mb Capped VS. 2MB uncapped.

For me, there is no question. Uncapped. Purely because of the amount of data I use.

80-something gigs and counting for September!

Oh. I didn't see you were comparing capped to uncapped. Definitely uncapped. No contest.

I've gone from 4MB uncapped to 2MB uncapped and it's actually quite bearable. Going from 4MB to 1MB is absolutely awful but 2MB is a good speed that I can deal with. Don't have to wait excessively long for things etc. Definitely a good option (on MWEB).

I get around 150-200kB/sec for downloads. I use NNTP (astraweb) but I cap it during the day as I work from home and don't watch it overwise, everything gets downloaded pretty quickly though :-) Dont use torrents anymore.
