Hi

I am considering getting the MWEB 3 MONTHS FREE PROMOTION as it seems like a good deal paying for 9/12 months. I'm a newbie to adsl so can you guys give me your 2cents on this. It comes with a free router as well. Is a 1 meg line good enough for torrent downloads

Dude don't do it, the tin foil hat i wear is going crazy thinking that there could be a pool of uncapped contract users and a pool of no contract uncapped users and the contract users are shaped heavier than the non contract guys because well they have to pay every month.

Consider this, you sign up a month later your account is so limited you cannot download torrents at more than 20, you cannot download on news servers at more than 20 and fire sharing sites don't work. Youtube never works. Basically if you find after a month your internet connection sucks and mweb cannot help you then you will be sitting wishing you had spent the extra money because you will be stuck with a crap account for 9-12 months. Not that i am saying it is crap i am giving you the worst possibly scenario to drive home just how badly a contract can go. It seems temping until you are forced into buying another account and still having to pay mweb. Look how they screw those game laptops users at 200 bucks a gb, they will have you locked in for 12 months who knows what they might do :eek: but whatever they choose to do you will have to pay.

Rather take mweb month to month or somebody else but don't sign a contract with any company.

enough said.

0kbps downloads. no steam. slow facebook & youtube. no filesonic, fileshare or astraweb etc. slow email. no news servers. take your pick.

and you consider signing a contract? goodness gracious....
 
what they dont tell you is that they will charge you double for the first bill after the 3 free months, think i will create a thread and share my experience..

edit: ok not charge you double, the first payable bill, will be twice the amount of the monthly installment.

That is normal though because they don't charge for the second month. So you pay for sep and oct next bill nov.
 
Try openweb.co.za you can't go wrong. They don't offer any 'free' products because they not trying to catch you.
