MWEB ADSL and website outage

We have replaced the faulty hardware which caused the outage and services should be restored in about 30 minutes.

Is this one of the disadvantages of VoIP, having to rely on your data network for your telephony.

True. When I ran a VoIP service I serviced a medical call centre which was mission critical. We kept a few Telkom incoming lines. Since our switch at Teraco had higher uptime than the internet in general we could map calls across automatically on failure. It is worth considering
