Anyone on mweb experiencing a very unstable network recently (besides the norm?). I cannot maintain ssh/vpn connections out to nyc/london for longer than 20 mins at any given time.

used to be rock solid, alas now it's more like a paper bag in a wet t-shirt competition at hooters.

I know its not possible to give 100% amazing service. But i have two download (Http) that are both 4-6GB and it always just go from a solid 60kb/s to 0 about every hour and then i have to stop the download and resume it again before it will start...and it is extremely annoying. It doesnt happed with other downloads, well i havent done any that size so i can really tell...

I get quite a few drops in service too - but I find the speeds on @mweb.co.za amazing at the moment... they almost make me feel guilty.

Been having the same issues myself since yesterday, not sure what is up.

I know the Mweb Admin asked for your username, but im wondering how a username can help solve this issue?? Surely if more than 1 of us are experiencing the same issue its got to do with something network related?? unless they are fiddling with account settings etc, either way, not fun :(

I tried logging in with the *@mweb.co.za login, does'nt login for me, do i need to contact them for this to be enabled?

Today has been terrible. A few times I did a traceroute to US locations. In all cases, the problem was this side of the ocean on the 2nd and 3rd hops after the router -- all local addresses.

I just had the net completely drop as well. Weird thing was I could still ping the mtn dns yet nothing else local or international would work. I tried removing dsl but got that landing page change the login. I put the dsl back and everything started working without a router reboot.

Sigh mweb.

I was hoping they would get better, not worse.

I've actually been having a lot of trouble with our connection as well lately.

Things that never gave me a problem are going on the fritz lately.

Steam simply -won't- work most of the time, Gtalk doesn't want to sign in and often the browsing is just completely dead.
Methinks I should PM mr. MWEB and see if he can tell me what the hell is going on, because calling them the other day helped bugger all.

Also having trouble with some local work VPN connections .. keeps dropping ...
Sometimes atleast once a week have to Phone MWEB Tech and go through the motions to get them to Reset the port...
Have PM and supplied the info for MWEB ops..
Not sure if this could also be the MWEB supplied MWEB Billion 7401VGP router that is giving issues...

My connection also get unstable at times

Yesterday evening around 6pm I could not stay connected.. My connection would connect and then my machine could not see the internet.. Windows 7 reported that it was unable to connect to the DNS server.

This unstabliy remained for about 10 minutes and then it disapeared..

But Mweb as whole I seem to lose my connection at least twice a day...

i've lost connection again twice in the last 10 minutes. Whats going on.

Hey it's weekend again, and hey the internet is f@cked again! Youtube is downloading at between 0 and 6kbps on my 4 Meg Account! Thanks MWEB, I enjoy contributing to your charity.....

Mweb is flying for me

Yes, we know that, but the problem is, it will be flying and then it just ... stops... like from 400KB to 0KB
You have to disconnect (in some cases) and reconnect and then it carries on (this is what I have to do)
Other times, you close the download program, wait a second or 2, and open it up again and it continues.

Happens way too often!

My line has been connected since last week Thursday no disconnects or anything (which is nice since the week before that there was a issue with my line)

Only issue I had was that yesterday afternoon the connection to the LOTRO server was down for about 20 minutes
But everything else was working on my side is I don’t think it was MWEB’s fault there

Mweb is very sporadic for me as well, must have dropped at least 5-10 times today, we have the 512 uncapped at work, and being a web developer working on joomla sites has been incredibly painful, this is standard relatively low bandwidth stuff, not online gaming etc. Can anyone help?
