Mweb Billion router

I initially had a contract with mweb (line, rental, bandwidth) which has now expired. Can I enter any ISP details in the router now or will mweb only work on this router?

It depends on which router it is. What router is it?

If you can log into the router, you should be able to reset it and use whatever details you want.

MWEB's billion routers are locked only to MWEB, reseting won't work.
I have heard of a way to flash the device but its a bit complicated.

What's the model number, or is it a special one for Telk/Mweb only?

model Bipac 7401 Voip
I think its only for mweb cos when i logged in to router settings and tried to change username it only has a dropdown box for (@dslmweb, @tiscali ) etc...

While it makes sense in a way to network lock a device, it's also a great pain. Cell phones also used to be network locked, but then some legislation I think stopped. It's just downright unfair.
