MWeb bonded line selution speed problam trend?

So, decided to take the plunge and try the Mweb 4 line bonded solution. After all have four ADSL lines each running 3.34 Meg constant download with a 53 ms ping and 0.34 k constant upload. Have been combining them with a Mikrotik router for a while, works nice, but 13 Meg speed would be even nicer:) This was last month. Cant get a higher download speed than the 3.3 Meg and upload speed of 1,5 Meg. Got a mail yesterday fro MWeb informing me that our exchange is congested.:sick: Disappointment with a big bottle Klipdrift.:o They will set my router to per session. See the trend hear?:wtf: Some more threads in the forum with the same story. I am not a network Fundy and during the past few years our pings have been going up from below 50 ms to above, but still. Kan this be for real? What do you guys recon/suggest?

You can blame telkom for that.

Zeyad, belief me, i would like nothing more than to blame Telkom. They have held us back with there monopoly for a very long time and it appears will still do for a long time to come, but i don't know. If i get 3.3 M/s average download on each individual ADSL line, how can congestion cause me to only get 3 M/s average on a four line bonded solution. This is what i cant get my head around. Any how, thanks for the response.
 
Exchange links are running shared BW,so whether you use 1 line or 4 if the link speed would not improve miraculously per line used

Ok, get what you are saying. In order to rule out congestion, if i run bandwidth test on all four individual ADSL lines at the same time and get 3.3 M/s on each one, congestion is not the problem and of cause if not, congestion is the problem. Just never thought of it in that way. Basically means i am screwed. Thanks PsyWolf, does actually help a lot.

Hi egate,

Yes, the poor perfomance is due to congestion between you site and our network (IPC links). We've been picking up complains from a number of customers in 05x exchange areas, and are working with Telkom to get it resolved.

That said, not all is lost. As mentioned by our support agent, our Bonded ADSL product can utilise 2 modes of operation, per-packet (full bonding) or per-session. The second mode is less susceptible to congestion but results in some functional trade-offs.

Please check your PM in a while, I'll provide you a full explanation.

Thanks. Is there any place i can get info on the bandwidth capacity available at our Telkom PABX, not much use installing a 4 port bonded solution if there is no capacity. Would have been nice if the MWeb sales rep mentioned that capacity might be a factor. Have been doing per-packet bandwidth sharing with a Mikrotik router for a while, but wanted the bonding specifically for the speed advantage. Doubt i would have considered bonding if i knew there might be a bandwidth problem. Would definitely first have got the PABX capacity and also i lost a lot of control when not using the Mikrotik that i also did not like all that much. Will have a look at PM, any info is appreciated.
