Mweb can you please increase your shaping after hours?

Hi Guys

Just to update it seems someone in the house has been killing the internet with downloads as soon as I turn off the wireless everything is ok.

Thanks Mweb rep for all the help. Now just to figure out who is doing it.

Was the wireless open and unsecured? :wtf:

Either way, if you ever turn it on again, make sure that it is secured or else anyone in range has free internet.

It's already shaped pretty hectically, I suggest moving to an unshaped package if you want to do "special stuffz".

My browsing / gaming is fine.

All he mentioned was browsing. Is plain browsing "special"?

Well when I signed up with Mweb initially a ran torrents and it would automatically prioritize HTTP traffic over anything else so I never had a problem. Doing some testing now and if Utorrent opens up even with torrents fully downloaded your connection is killed completely. So this leads me to believe that Mweb shaping is configured to not only shape certain ports but your entire connection once p2p traffic is detected.

So please provide me with some advice seeing as you are so very clued on this?

It is secured no unauthorized access.

Actually , you'll probably find that your torrent software is butchering your connection. Mweb implemented a policy a while ago of 100 connections, I think it was? Drop your torrent to a max of 50 connections and lower your upload speed to a minumum of 80% max up. You should then be able to browse ok but expect that if you are butchering your up pipe , any latency will be high.
