Yes I'm still with Mweb and yes it's a bloody shame. :o

I started using them eons ago though and I've been using the email address for so long that it's going to be difficult to just drop it.

How much will it cost to leave Mweb but just continue using the email? Do they have a service like that? And how much does it cost?

Please provide a link if possible. :)

I think it is R39 a month. You won't find a link. Just e-mail customer service and they will send you a downgrade form. Or I can post one here for you... I might still have it.

Been contemplating the same thing...Had this email since they took over Pixie. Was told R55 for email only by one of their consultants last week. Forgot to ask though whether it will still give me access to the school related portion of their site (learning.mweb.co.za) as my kids find it quite useful

I went through this a few years ago. I moved to Axxess, but to this day I am still using my MWeb email account.

Refer to this thread for the details.

Just go on an iBurst 40MB month2month contract for R49 (R10 more than just an email), that gets everything you already have.

I just checked my dad's account again and they are paying R55 for the first e-mail address and R39 for the second. I'm still hoping to move them completely to Gmail, I have already set Gmail as their primary address, just got to notify a few more people of the change and then I can close the Mweb ones.

I rather pay them nothing, all you do is state in your signature that you will have a new email address over a month, whilst signing up with one of the many free limitless email services & import your address book/set-up outlook/express......

It's just too easy........

I will NEVER go back to iBurst again. I'd rather keep on paying Mweb for a dailup :D

You don't need to use the iBurst connection (thankfully I actually got ADSL this month lol), just a sort of loophole cos dialup cost R145.

@Garyvdh
Why pay R55+R39=R94 when you just get an iBurst account that gives you a 2 Gig mail box, SMS alerts, 4 Aliases, extra e-mail addresses, Faxmail, MWEB CallSaver plus 300 minutes of IS Wi-Fi. All for R49 and it can be dumped at anytime as it's a month to month contract.

That does seem the better option. And it really is month to month?

My mate wants to get this sorted for his folks..
