Yesterday I started a topic called” Mweb 1 month free uncapped? Not quite!” and highlighted the problems I had been having with the so called “free 1 month trail” account 1000 of us had won on the social networking site Facebook.
Since starting this thread about Mwebs 1000 free trail account’s Mweb have stepped in and fixed all the concerns I was having.
The first thing they fixed was the problem where if you did not cancel your 1 month free trial by the 20th they would start billing you for the next month. They have now set it up so that you no longer have to cancel the account but they will ask you whether you would like to carry it on. So instead of Mweb making you have to call them and fill in a cancellation form the account will automatically get disconnected after the 1 month trial is over unless you request it to carry on.
The second problem I was having was that they were asking you to send them proof of address as well as a copy of your ID and all the documentation that they require from you to sign you up. I wasn’t happy about this but did it, but then was told I did not have the correct documentation for RICA which means I would not be able to get my “winnings”
Mweb have now also fixed this problem and have told me that from now on they will not require you to sign up with them first to get your 1 month trail and that you will not need to comply with RICA unless you plan on carrying on with the uncapped account after the trail has ended! They will now send all 1000 people a username and password vie email without them having to input any info.
I would like to thank Mweb for fixing the problems I (and the other 999 people)was faced with and changing the way the 1000 free account’s would be handed out to the winners. South Africans need to have a company that is willing to take people’s problem they were having with them and try fix it and that’s exactly what they have done!
I was extremely frustrated with the situation Mweb had put me in and went on a bit of a online rampage complaining on mybraodband,Facebook and twitter which I now realise was a bit drastic
I am sorry for any bad publicity I gave Mweb especially now that they have fixed the problem which is not what I expected!
Thanks again!
