Mweb Free the web uncapped free account

Hey

Just got my free account activated! :D

Great job to mweb! Getting the account before the 1st of April, and its actually a 4mbit account! Not limited to 512kbps :)
 
took bout 20 seconds to activate the account :) gotta say, great job mweb! i`l be keeping my uncapped account with them even if its a few rands more expensive than some others, they took the first step :)

That's pretty sweet! Wonder if they know, since it should be a 512 account :D
 
I received the email, but it had the wrong details, 1st call to mweb was fruitless, they tried to make me change my default gateway on my router to 10.0.0.2. The second call was professional, the instant I relayed my login details he told me it was wrong and gave me the correct one. I really have to thank who ever mentioned it on the my broadband forum and provided the link otherwise I would have never found it, and the person who complained to make sure we didn’t have to submit Rica stuff.
 
So the people whose accounts got activated applied on the 16th? :confused:
Then what do you make of this person?

Sounds like, to me, that the person applied and they granted him the account and it worked within the 1st 30 minutes since they issued it. If I'm wrong, then how does BrokenLink know that it took 20 seconds to activate the account if he, assuming, applied on the 16th? I mean, it should take about 9 days to activate the account if you apply on the 16th and then you are only able to use it now, the time of his post.

Anyways, I was also under the impression that there were only 1000 test accounts available and I assumed, which is dangerous, that they are all taken. :cry:

1st of all I would like to, formally, welcome you on Mybb and I hope you will contribute positively, sometimes negatively positive, on all topics that you will choose to respond to on these threads. :D I sincerely hope that your time with us will be well spent and your presence/knowledge and or skills, maybe hypothesis-es sometimes, will be of great benefit to us all.

(thanks f3 key) I don’t need welcoming, been lurking on mybb for about a year, on mybb at 01:45 am check. About 40 mmbb links in favourites bar check. A real Mybb forumite I guess.
 
That is why I put the word "formally", coz I know that one doesn't just register on a site... they first do some searching. Anyway, thanks for the link. I remember now when Tjoker posted that FB link; as I said that I followed the thread, my post is the 2nd from the top... it's just that I couldn't follow the link coz I was already capped on all my accounts. :o

Sorry mweb but im going to download 24/7 , dont know when next ill have uncapped.stuck 4 six months in telkom contract.
 
I got my details....I already downloaded 16GB :( Sorry Mweb I never meant to! I thought it would take few days to download everything I wanted.


O well I guess after today I will have thing to download would have got my fair share of real internet!
 
I wonder then when I will get mine. I did receive an email saying I am part of the lucky 1000 but I never received an account :(
 
i'm happy with my free account so far...

last night i was pulling 430kb/s on torrents,

at the moment, its shaped at +- 110kb/s, not bad!

i thought it would be around 20 kb/s
 
I received my account details yesterday and activated and it showed that i was registered on the "Free The Web- ADSL Uncapped 4096" product which was great, i wouldn't have to go through the exercise of having to pay in the difference as originally stated. This afternoon after noticing my much slower downloads i went back to check my account, and i was now registered on the "Free The Web- ADSL Uncapped 512" product. I then called the call center to ask about upgrading the account but they said that because this a demo account this option is no longer available. Now i'm either stuck with a 512 Kb account for the rest of the month or i have to purchase a 4Mb account at full price.....
 
WARNING!!! OUR FREE ACCOUNTS HAVE NOW BEEN DOWNGRADED FROM 4MB TO 512K ACCOUNTS, YES IT IS FREE AND THANK YOU VERY MUCH, BUT NOW i DON'T KNOW IF I WILL BE STAYING WITH MWEB IF I CAN'T SEE HOW THE 4MB ACCOUNT WORKS THROUGHOUT THE MONTH.... SUPER BUMMER :(
 
Giantslayer where did you hear this? It would explain the rubbish speeds iv been getting
 
Log into your mweb account, they have changed it! Sneaker buggers! O well, nothing we can do. It did state on the free for web campaign that is was going to be 512k accounts. :(
