Wow, it's customers like OP that really get me riled up. I work in computer retail and fortunately I do my job properly. Unfortunately there are some clients who like to buy stuff for very precise reasons and decide not to mention it to anyone then get angry when it doesn't work like it is supposed to.
Even worse is when they phone (usually off another rep's sale) and ask why the key from the bottom of the laptop is not working on MS Word and throw their toys out of the proverbial cot. That is understandable of course, I usually mention that MS Office is a seperate purchase to the laptop / desktop.
Then you get guys like the OP, who feel so outraged at their own stupidity that they feel the need to crow out on a public forum, trash everyone involved (except their perfect selves of course) and promptly get proven wrong.
Being in computer retail, that particular special of the Toshiba i5 is pretty damn awesome for the price, I was not even aware that MWEB was giving out free ADSL accounts with their laptops. Stop complaining, you got a good deal, the fine print wasn't really so fine, it was laid out in the advertising clear as day.
I am probably reading too much in to this but having to state it was for your kids smells a bit of a lame excuse to try "fight the man". Making it sound like your kids are the "new clients". Tell me this, are your kids legally allowed to enter a contract? If so, void point
If not, another reason to make wonder at the audacity of some people.
You will probably even get a nice MWEB rep in here sometime soon asking you to PM him so he can see what he can do for you, they like to keep up customer relations even when it is not their fault.
