So I bought my kids laptops from GAME. They have this Toshiba Laptop I5 for R4999.00 included in the advertised promotion are one year free 384 Internet service and modem. Now when it came to registering the contract with Mweb there are suddenly some added unclear limitations. It's only supposed to be for new Mweb clients. So My kids are new clients only because they live with me my ADSL line is already an Mweb client so I cannot get the added promotions unless I cancel my existing service and then they will enable one "new" service on the ADSL line unless I can forward them two other ADSL line numbers.

What a bunch of hogwash. Mweb I had it with your schit. I am leaving you forever. I will get my two "free" contracts somehow but I that will be it. You are a bunch of Telkom style monopolistic morons, period.

No one ever reads the fine print.

When it comes to MWEB, you have to learn buddy, it's not about the product - it's about the fine print... nothing is as good as it looks when it comes to MWEB.

Curious question, do you have to be above 18 or 21 to be "legal" clients of an isp ?

This clearly stinks! Would love to hear the MWEB rep comment on this.

i dont think you have to be over 18 to be an isp client the account can be on your kids name and you can pay for it.

just like my wife has an account on her name and I pay for it!

If not, it's false advertising imo.

+1 Check the advert. Usually they give a price with and without the ISP subscription and if you're already a subscriber its stupid paying for it twice.

Well his kids are new customers, they never had mweb contract before :p

It states "All you need is an active ADSL line" - without making any mention of who supplies it.

Yeah except AFAIK Mweb account is linked to a phone number, whether you have it through Mweb or Telkom. If you are an existing Mweb subscriber using number 555-1234 and want to use your free MWeb 555-1234 you can't, stupid but you can't blame them for not warning you.

Saying that, the onus should be on the GAME (usually clueless) sales rep to ask you and inform you about the conditions.

Sadly it does clearly state for new customers only.

Sounds like you never read the fine print. Not mweb's fault at all. Get your family to use the contracts. Fudzy it is not up the game reps, they put fine print down for a reason, generally it is there for people to read it and understand what i going on. Why do so many peeps ignore the fine print :D. It's not there to make the page look pretty.

It doesn't say only one customer per household...or one customer per telephone line.

When I was still living at home in the age of dial-up, my parents had a dial-up account, and so did I...

Did this guy really buy the laptop based on the premise that he will get free ADSL?

Why are you so angry man? If you ended up buying something without reading the fine print then don't get angry with everyone else about it. Laat sak jou dikbek en gaan aan.

Yeah well with the new CPA it's always worth a shot :D Either way, problem doesn't lie with MWeb.

why the fak does the fine print have to be so small. anyway game is at fault because they had to tell you the T&C when purchasing the product. they did not do that, so you can return it.
