First of all, where the hell do you get off seeing that they give wow players better latency? WHERE? Show me?
Secondly, if you even tried using google ONCE before spewing this crap you would realize that black ops has allot of issues atm, not related to the ISP's even. Its the game and they are busy working on getting it fixed.
 
yes i am aware that black ops has it issue atm. But if you compare all other ISP even when playing local, mweb performs poorly. You get 1 red bar while all other ISP have better connections:wtf: Why must all web subs get 1 bar (go to COD section on www.ps3za.co.za) and you will see what im talking about
 
Update on WoW latency: Logged on, latency looked good, ran around Dalaran, stayed good. Went to RS with 20 peeps (slow night) and did the raid with no lag!!! A nice comfy 600ms which felt smooth. I had to check me router settings to make sure I hadn't left my Axxess or Afrihost account on from last night!

Whatever was changed (if anything) seems to have had an effect but I am cautiously optimistic about this being fixed (for now!).

Youre incredibly lucky, mine is sitting in teh 1800-3200 region tonight which is a BIT better but i wouldnt call getting DCed every 30min playable... Hell I cant even load Minecraft on these caching servers...
 
I play League of Legends every night and I have not had any latency problems. (American servers giving my standard ~350ms)

I play Lord of the rings online on the EU gilrian server
average latency is 280 with a little loss 1-2%

overall it is very good

Nice to see other players as well. I tried to play last night on Snowbourn but with mweb my ping was about 380 with a that loss was running at 20-40% which ofcourse means it was spking the whole time and getting frequent disconnects. Switched back to axxess lite and ping was at 210ms with 0% loss the whole evening. Hopefully it will get sorted soon as keeping two accounts for internet should not be needed.

The only time I have ever had bad latency on lotro was when there was official outages on MWEB.
Sunday was slightly higher latency (290-350) but loss was still just 1-2% or less
both my wife and myself got the same while playing through my 384K line

try Gilrian and see if you also get high latency there?
 
WoW patch is also close on 1GB and now MWEB decides to cut the cables! (I know they didnt but timing is quite possibly the worst imaginable). Now I have to download that patch with a capped account. Thank goodness Afrihost gave me one for free.

Do we get some sort of a price reduction now MWEB? Seeing as we have to supplement the uncapped product (which is the priciest I think) with accounts from other ISPs just so we can use the Internet our way?
 
@GrimReaper I don't have any additional information about peering links, or additional Gamezone servers at this time.

If anything changes you guys will be the first to know.

Cannot play DotA

I may sound angry, but that is only because...I AM ANGRY!!!! I cannot play dota on this internet service non-provider called MWEB because dota uses user to user hosting, which means if someone on SAIX (eg telkom) hosts a game i connect to them via London, which means i have 2.5 second delay and MAJOR lag, which means I can only play DotA on mweb hosts, and most of the hosts use WebAfrica accounts and the WAGE bot (its a bot that hosts games which is a service provided by WebAfrica) for serious games such as Clan games (Eg for the upcoming League) and for In House League games. On an MWEB account I cannot access this and thus cannot play these games.

Well done cutting ties with SAIX. As soon as I can convince my parents Im changing ISPs, mweb offered uncapped internet at a cheap rate and we got cheap rate service.
 
i just host the dota games then that people lagg lol,

mweb peers with webafrica if your in cpt, they also going to peer with jhb soon i heard.
 
Im in Durban though :/ like seriously if I could just join WAGE games it would be ok :/
