MWEB Gaming Feedback

Hey, also been having similar problems for a few months, usually is perfect after business hours.

Looks like problems with mweb breaking into telkoms network, peering/routing issues perhaps? all that is local and is terrible heres mine from work..

Don't Blizzard threaten to ban your account if you use a tunneling service? Or is that just hogwash I've heard? Still knowing Blizzard I wouldn't put it past them and wouldn't consider it worth losing my account for. (I mean even an inactive WoW account with a lvl 80 sells for R1k+)

Seeing as I have tryed everything that I know from my side I guess there is no problem in seeing if this may be an mweb related gaming issue.

Hi guys. Need some help. Can't get pes 2011 to connect online at all. Even just trying to access the online lobby I get:

Unable to connect to connection Test server. The server may be too busy or taken down for maintenance work. Communication may also be restricted by your firewall software or router.

As far as I can tell the ports are open on my router, tried changing the settings from 5739 to another port but that didn't help. I am using a billion bipac 7300 ra, windows 7 x64 and the digital version of the game.

I have also tried turning off my firewalls on both windows and the router, no luck.

Other games I play online like fifa 11 and starcraft 2 have no issues. In fact of all my online programs only this one is giving me issues.

Blizzard are very grey in that area, i've had my account locked for suspicious activity a few times when i switched servers to fast, but i just reset my password and its fine. But i've been using a tunneling service for a few months now with no threatens on bans.

Fixed my issue. Apparently pes 2011 doesn't like routers that use bridge mode. Changed to ppopoe and that solved the issue.

Im on a 384 adsl line. Nah, i think bliz temp banning etc was only when the tunneling service didnt use your own IP yet. So it looked like you logged on from another country etc. Now you have an option on services like WTfast to "log in with own ip"

I will run a tracert again later, something seems up. Thing is, i believe its not my line because of the simple fact that i get 265-275 ms with a normal telkom account.

@Will@MWEB

was on wow on friday-sunday no problems with latency i logged in now my latency is 600+

Edit: 622ms currently

Well, good news and bad news. Good news is that now the tunneling service is working after 7, which was about the time it started going down hill. Bad news is now every 5 hops there is a ping timeout to an EU IP regardless if the tunneling service is on or if wow is even running. Seems there is always an issue.

About 15% timeouts, i also get this in the cmd every so often

Keep in mind, its not my line (testing it with other ISP accounts without issue)

Local is fine, pings to EU are eratic.

Hi all,

Ok I have a 384 line and the unshaped uncapped account, when everything was moved over to Telkoms network I had quite amazing pings tbh, 250-400 in guildwars, and a ping of 290-600 in perfect world international (I actually had green ping dots, they actually exist!)

This was on the [email protected] domain name on the router.

Then we had the 2 weeks of maintenance and lag and now that it is over i was looking forward to once again having my awesome ping back.

Im sad to say that I now have the same ping as I got on a normal shaped 384 line.

Has anyone else noticed this? Was I just lucky for a few weeks?

Demandred, i had amazing pings from the start of the uncapped launch till about a 3 weeks or a month ago. You didnt get lucky for a few weeks, the ping was awesome, now it isnt thou.
Now a normal telkom account pings 1/3rd of mweb.

Meh it sucks, knowing how low it can actually be, I'm considering shopping around to find an amazing ping again, but its a pain in the ass...

i have had crap latency from the start of last week over the weekend from friday to sunday i had no problems i log in on monday evening and my latency is between 600-1115ms how can it go from 350-400 to that in 24hrs

MWEB uncapped was completely useless this past weekend. League of Legends would start up fine but as soon as I connected and a game started it would take ages to connect and come back with an error saying theres a firewall blocking my connection (I haven't changed any firewall settings). Switched to another account and it worked fine. So its not any settings locally on my PC/network. MWEB was screwing around with things. I haven't tried MWEB again since this weekend.

Guys post tracerts to the servers you're experiencing problems on. It doesn't help MWEB by not giving them much to go by.

Same here. Am on EU servers.

What the hell is going on?

Hi Everyone

The thing that's puzzling me about this is that we haven't adjusted any shaping rules and international routes haven't changed - there's just more of it. I also haven't seen any command line pings that look any different to what they were previously. I'd love to help, but please help me with a little more detail about your symptoms and preferably with some tracerts to the servers you're connecting to and when you experienced the problem - also for preference, please don't PM me those :D - I'll pick them up in the thread.

Thanks
Will

Seemed fine again last night never went above 450ms will keep an eye on it
