MWEB Gaming Feedback

Important. Just saw this post on the WTfast technical forums. Was always weird for me that battleping works and wtfast doesnt. Battleping somehow circumvents the bad latency.

"Another possibility if you experience latency/spikes during situations when alot of bandwidth is being pushed is that your Internet provider might be limiting traffic on port 10801, this is the port that WTFast uses. We recommend contacting your Internet provider and asking them if they are restricting traffic on port 10801, and to make sure your firewall settings are also allowing the traffic. Examples of situations where you might push lots of bandwidth is in big raids or major PvP battles."

Port 10801.

Will could you please look into that specific port? Would help a great deal, thank you.

Will do, but remember you're unshaped - there is no port prioritization for your account.

The optimization I mentioned on Friday for traffic to certain realms was put in place this morning at 06h00 as a test

The following Realms have been put on the list:

DragonBlight
LightBringer
Draenor
Steamwheedle Cartel
Emerald Dream
Twilight Hammer
Eonar

This is just a test so please could users on those realms let us know what their experience is.

Thanks
Will

hi will

when you guys make changes to be realm specific. please dont forget about the Laughing skull realm.

thanks

@freaker and if you connect to another realm with a new toon?

Latency over 6000ms on Steamwheedle Cartel and other EU realms with new toons. Unplayable.

Looking forward to whatever changes happen at 08:00 tomorrow morning (not caused by Blizzard), so that I'll get an hour of play from 17:00 - 18:00.

Hey guys,

Anyone here playing Guild Wars? Re-logged into my account to catch up a little given that GW2 is coming soon, but it seems I get quite poor download speeds 25K/s to 50K/s and I am on a 4Mb uncapped account. Anyone else have a different experience, what speeds do you guys normally get? Is there anything I can do to speed it up?

Hi Will,

This whole weekend my ping was fine, 250-300ms, never higher no matter the time of the day. I play on Twilight's Hammer, live in CT, Durbanville so whatever changes you guys made it seemed to work for me :D

Thanks

Edit : I use WTFast

Your lucky, My latency with Mweb was 13k+ with the logon, and then i get DC the whole time tested Friday, Saterday and Yesterday nothing have been fixed over the weekend, and tested with a SAIX account and got 200ms.

Please Mweb get this solved i cant switch accounts everytime!!

We are attempting a further fix this evening which will ensure that our cache servers are removed from the equation. I am in the process of installing WoW on my notebook so that I can get a first hand look at the problem.

If you call youself good, this problem would have been fixed long ago, waiting more than 3weeks now and cant do shiz with this mweb account? Will we get a FREE unpaid month?

Well, I came home early, and decided to get some game time in before 18:00... unfortunately I wasn't so lucky...

This is a screenshot of my VH HC Random I did. If you read the text, you'll see the death of Cyanigosa, is the boss from the 18th portal... but if you look at the top, I'm still fighting the mob from Portal 17. (it's 112KB for those with bandwidth limits)
album.php

I still don't understand why the chat and text comes through in near real-time, but everything else is delayed by however long...

Incidentally, I didn't do a Tracert, as this was the instance server, so it not my realm (Daggerspine) server, and I have no idea of the IP.

Also, I was lucky enough to have an awesome weekend with latency.
