MWEB Gaming Feedback

Maybe we should compile a list of games and let the mweb people look at all of them. I mean every time I start playing something new mweb will have to adjust for them by request. So maybe a new thread with all the games listed along with ports etc. and when you start playing a new online game just add it to the list.

Sounds good, but a Mweb rep would need to ideally create it... I would invision something like:

Game: Black Prophecy
IP Range: 10.0.0.0 - 10.0.0.200
Port(s): 8080
Optimised on Mweb: No, Being tested or Yes

The last bit ideally coming from the Mweb rep.

Looks good to me :)

Hey there all. Been noticing some rough latencies and performance on my Mweb acc since the outage last week. Eventually i discovered that if i dont use WTFast to log in things are actually better and more responsive (300ms-400ms), though it does not take long to get frustrated with the lagg still present. At stages it shows home at 225ms yet world at 1200 :\ Hope it helps.

Minecraft online issues with mweb

Minecraft, though visually less appealing than LEGO is a fun game to play. More so if you can play it with friends online.

It used to work quite will on my mweb uncapped 4096 up until the weekend. Since then the game it not playable when using my mweb account. The same reported to me from 2 other friends trying to play from mweb accounts. Switching to my Axxess Lite account its perfect, and my friend on Axxess uncapped also has perfect gameplay.

What bugs me is that it worked and now does not, almost like its been sabotaged on purpose. (imho)

Mweb introduced new shaping rules I think. As well as implented some new bandwitdh device in London. Unfortuanately gamers are getting the short end of it.

All my Gaming on Mweb seems fine. Maybe a spike every hour but nothing seriously. Im in Bloem btw.

Will what is going on our ppl from JHB can't play black ops anymore. MWEB doesn't support Black ops anymore. So be it I will go with afrihost to play black ops.

Great idea guys.

We have a new head of Gaming at MWEB, only a few days old, but we are throwing him in the deep end nevertheless :) He is in the process of setting up some space on the Gamezone forums for this type of discussion so that our dedicated gaming team can get to know you guys and what you play so I'd really appreciate if you guys can head over there and start to engage with them and voice your gaming concerns to the team.

Which is not to say that I'm not going to listen here anymore, or stay involved, but it does make more sense for the team dedicated to gaming to work with you guys on these issues.

On that note I spent some time with them today taking some traffic captures for Black Ops which our network engineers are going to analyze to see if we can pinpoint why retrieving the master server list is problematic for our JHB customers.

I think you must hurry it up as this has been going on for a while now

Why on earth would we sabotage a game visually less appealing than Lego, other than perhaps as an act of social responsibility? :D Sorry did see this request earlier, but I am working through a list which you have just reached the top of. If you could provide me with some detail on ports, server ips or anything of that nature I will get someone to look at it as soon as possible.

nelis I personally took an hour out of my day to assist with the traffic captures and carried the hard drive with the files on to the engineer - I really can't do more than that :)

Dont hold your breath, the best possible outcome you can hope for is mweb saying theres a problem. Never mind fixing it, just getting them to admit it will take you ages even with proof :( Its a sad day indeed.

FFS, have you no end, You already made your absolute hate for the service clear, so just cancel your service and move on. Find something somewhere else to waste your time on. You now create problems in every Mweb related thread. Just get a life and move on.

Applause and more applause, you actually deserve a standing ovation!!!! Well done

Hi SHVAK

Apologies for not addressing this one for you sooner. I have one of our engineers looking at RoF signatures for me now, there should hopefully be some improvement by tomorrow.

No improvement at all, get into game and instant server disconnect, connection lost.
I just completed a full reinstall of the game to make sure there is no problem myside and the problem remains.

This is a game that up until two weeks ago i played almost non stop without any problems. Now i cannot even stay on a server longer than a few seconds.
I even connected to empty servers to check it was not some major bandwidth issue?

I would have no problem waiting for a solution if I thought one was on the cards, but this is a joke. I have a ping of between 250 and 290 which for flight sims internationally is excellent. The disco's seem to be Mweb driven and not game related at all

Have you no end in replying to me? Im going to try to not post in this thread, cause emo kiddies feelings get hurt.
I do however just want to say, hey, this is my feedback. This is what happened to me, thats why I said it. The first 10 or so they said there was nothing wrong with wow, later they got flooded with complaints, blaming everyone except the mweb network and ppl defending them. Guess what, Months later it was shown and confirmed that it was in fact their network having the issues.

So yeh, gl to everyone having problems in this thread, let me rephrase what I said. I hope the problems get sorted soon, but please just dont fool yourselves like I did into believing they will actually fix it soon after taking your details.

At least Mweb is doing something thou, so i guess thats something. Could have done nothing at all. I do believe that you should be able to buy an internet service, put in your username/pass and play games at least on ADSL without constant issues. This thread is 179 pages long for a reason. The general one is crazy amount of pages long.

MegasXLR, you can ignore my posts, you can ignore me as a user. At least my problem creating problems is on topic, yours is just flaming me. Good luck kid :( I wish you the best.

Why not route our traffic via Capetown MWEB for the game servers. like let the main treyarch stats for black ops being routed via sat3 then we all are happy

+100000 Exactly what I was meaning earlier.

Hi SHVAK We put signatures in place this morning based on the published information in terms of ports used by RoF. It seems based on your feedback that this has not had the desired results. I will let them know and we'll take another look at it.
