MWEB Gaming Feedback

Been having quite a few lag spikes on sw the old republic since yesterday, haven't had these in the 15 days of playing.

Using the 4mbps uncapped shaped package and pretoria based.

When I play Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty online(League matches, custom games etc), it's really hard to micromanage my army because of lag (2 second delay). When I issue a command order, it takes about 2 seconds for it to be carried out.

Is there anything I can do to improve it? Is it being shaped 24/7? Should I upgrade to 1mbit? (My line speed is shaped 384K - uncapped)Will that make a huge difference (for online gaming)?

Hi Kitty09,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

The account you have is not ideal for gaming and as such you may encounter some issues from time to time.
Upgrading your account to 1mbps should improve your gaming experience as your connection speed should increase to more than double your current speed.

Please let me know if you would like to arrange for someone to contact you and arrange for an upgrade.

Is anyone else on Mweb experiencing problems with Steam?
Mine does not want to start Skyrim, its stuck on the "Preparing to launch..." screen, and when you exit, it gets stuck on the "Finishing Steam cloud sync..." screen.

Hi Requim,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I am not aware of any reported issue at the moment with Steam.
I will look into this for you though and let you know when I have an update.

I received word from our gaming admins that there was a slight problem but this has been resolved now.

Thanks. I tested it just now, everything seems to be working again.
 
At the moment are there problems with world of warcraft latency ?, im getting a latency between 450 - 900 ms which is crazy. cant test another ISP till later on tonight, but i believe its related to telkom.

I would advise monitoring it until you can test with the other ISP account. I'm not aware of any issues with WoW at the moment. I will follow up with our team and I will provide you feedback as soon as I received information.

Hey MWEB ... There is an issue at the moment in Durban & Cape Town (seems not to be JHB) Cannot connect to the MW3 servers on MWEB, Started at about 20:25. Connected with My Afrihost backup and no problem.....
