Mweb Kill Torrents completely during office hours

Nothing you mention is unique to MWEB, it's the route all ISPs are going. There is no such blanket punishment or being shaped to death because of someone else. I'm not a downloader, but I'm certainly more a fan of throttling than shaping. These are, after all, home uncapped accounts. If you want to torrent during the day during the work week, you'll need a business uncapped account.

Mine is not a home account but a 10Mbps premium Business Uncapped ADSL account. But I get what you saying. I need an unshaped account. Fair enough. Pay for the privilege.

Interestingly enough I was told by the support staff that they are killing torrents because "some users are abusing the system", so it does seem that all mweb users are placed under the same umbrella and usage is not considered on a case by case basis.

I propose that you downgrade to 10Mbps Home Premium, it seems to be the same as Business Uncapped, the 'real' unshaped Business accounts seem to be called something else.

Someone from Mweb was downloading a torrent from me at around 700kB/s, so don't worry, somewhere out there is someone getting his money's worth :D

Dude, this is very very simple. Cancel and sign up with an Afrihost Business account or Crystal Web unshaped account

If you were to use a VPN service, does that bypass the throttling / blocking of this?

Not that I am supporting MWEB at all... but am curious

It may help with shaping, not throttling
