Mweb Local Uncapped Trial

Just phoned now on their Tech line and spoke to a tech named brent , and good news anything downloaded locally is entirely free !:D

Really? Is that just for this month?

And can one take these things out on a month-to-month basis or are you tied in to a contract? Their website makes me . Couldn't find what i was looking for there.

dam didnt ask how long its gonna last for but im gonna milk it while i can and I know what you mean , There usage tracker is a load of b*lls even Ti is better

well everything seems to be going smooth here.....just like the good "old" days of last yr (thanks telskum for stopping the free local )

And just when I got cod! I guess 20 gigs of cod should keep me busy though.(Not capped yet but soon)

That is awesome.
Unless they are lying through their teeth, though.

Well, i dont expect too seeing as they said as much:

For the duration of the trial, you will be able to access local websites, services and content free of charge whenever you exceed your cap

Some local sites seem to hang ... i think it might be because of the international banner ads and counters ???

It happens when you're using local-only accounts and then those banners just timeout...after a while. Gets irritating if you do a lot of surfing, luckily SA doesn't have that many sites which interest me :p

imo, for local access mweb does not have to use saix or is or who ever. they all connect to each other. its only for int that they have to make use of saix, etc.

Or am I completely wrong?

Mweb users, how's it going? :)

I noticed when I got into the office this morning that we had hit our 2 Gb cap and Mweb's page was telling me that I was into "local only access"... I will try tonight when I get home to see how much I can download on the account.

hehe... I couldn't wait... I just logged back in and am downloading happily from a certain local server that shall remain unnamed. Download speed is avging about 2-300 KB/s (ADSL 512). We'll see if anything shows up on the account

Isn't there a "0" too many there?

btw, if you are using Firefox with adblock plus, this is not as much of an issue. Those ads are mostly blocked. News24 and IOL load just fine.

409,928 KB in 24 minutes. How is that? :D

The uncached files though are taking much longer :(
