Mweb Local Uncapped Trial

Awesome, thanks for that!

Now, where to get the most local cap for the least amount of money :)

So MWEB has canned the free local, they did call it beta.... MWEB have always had a different view on this market to mybroadband type users, I remember they had premium prices for a long time based on the fact that they provided a captive portal. Verizon do offer local only accounts but they are outrageous expensive... IMHO the cheapest local is Vanilla IS local accounts @ R138 for 30GB (which comes with free 2GB international included)

USERS BEWARE: i've just spoken to mweb tech support (AGAIN). spoke to a guy named Eldrid. he then spoke to some senior technician only to report back to me that i WOULD be charged for usage over and above my 10gb cap FOR APRIL. yes... FOR APRIL!! i told him that they're charging people without their knowledge and that it is illegal and he told me that the situation is what it is. he said i should phone the sales department tomorrow if i wish.

he was probably told to tell you that. They have been giving confusing statements for the past year.

i cant take this strain cause i cant afford to pay any kind of a bill. even a grand would be rough as hell and we know how high these bills can climb :P

edit: cleared up again. spoke to a supervisor and she told me that i won't be charged. my mind is at ease, at least for a while longer... :P

Tech support confirmed with the manager that we will only be charged for usage over 10gb from 1st of May? (as per the email?).

He also advised not to "abuse the 10GB" as they do keep track of the stats and there is a "blacklist"?

What are the chances of them deciding to charge for usage above 10gb for April, for those who "abused" their 10GB? Is there a clause in the T&C that states "abuse"/excess usage may be charged for at their discretion?

as far as i know there's no clause for them to charge at their discretion BUT i believe there is a clause allowing them to suspend your account at their discretion. i could be wrong, i stand to correction.
also... what constitutes abuse? that is what i would like to know. is it 50gb? 100gb? 1tb? anyone have any idea?

Well, they used to flag you at 100GBs. Now it'll probably be 10.000001GBs :(

Can u just get an uncapped local account from mweb??
