Haven't been able to connect to the Mweb news server (news.mweb.co.za) since wednesday.

Is anyone else having trouble with the Mweb news server?

SAIX also won't connect.

Browsing is fine.

So for the last three days, then, as opposed to the last week.

Hi Soulman

We're not aware of any fault with the news server, please PM me your details and I'll have someone call you back to assist with this.

Isnt the Mweb News server pointing to the Saix one?

Besides who uses newsgroups these days anyway :D

If you are on SAIX wholesale bandwidth it will redirect to news.saix, if you are on our IPC network it will resolve to the MWEB news server.

Kind Regards

A lot of people...

I had issues where I was getting no connectivity for most of yesterday. Last night it came back but I was getting 2K instead of the usual 20+K. At the moment not using it so can't comment. But there clearly were some issues.

still bad, i was called by mweb today and was told that they were doing tests on newsgroups, torrents etc. so i was basically told they are shaping. i will be downgrading to 384 on Monday again not prepared to pay for a 4meg line and get bad speeds

I tried nzbs for a while, but nah.

Torrents for me. :)

Maybe but what i like about nzb's is you can find something that is like 4-8 months old and d/l it at full speed with torrents it crawls.

Plus i get so tired of downloading passworded movies on torrents.

Both have their positives and negatives.

I would however stick with Qwikslver and torrents. :)
