I'm struggling to get downloads going on mweb news server. Last nite I was peaking at 110kb/s on 1MB line and from this morning till now its either timing out or downloading at 0.1kb...
Anyone else experiencing this??

N.B. I received their "YOU EXCEEDED YOUR UNSTIPULATED FAIR USAGE AMOUNT" email

looks like they went in dry on you bra, how much did you download so far for the month? is your normal browsing speeds also slow?

if somebody can get some more details I will be much obliged

Went down earlier in the day for me,i reset my router to factory default settings and reentered my details and it worked, not sure if its the same issue

Best would be to pm Mweb guy

Normal browsing is fine, its just news server that's struggling...
My warning came at end of July. August was my "audit" month and I wouldnt have gone over 150gb which is also my average.
Going to try schumi's suggestion. Hopefully that works.
Meant to switch to afrihost already but was a bit lazy to complete MWEB's cancellation form, etc, etc...

well gosh, MWEB is crapper than usual. It took me all of 5 min to get in here. Trying to download a bloody 38 MB file and the *&%&^&^% download manager is telling me that it will take 16 hours!!!

URGH.

Thank God for gin. And whiskey.

UPDATE. OK, so I reset the router and now it's a bit better.

i haven't had issues with the news server today, mine has been fine, i wanna see how far i get before I'm throttled, i also got the email and i average 120gb per month

1) Cancel Mweb
2) Get an Openweb account
3) Download as much as you ever want, especially from the IS news server
4) Profit

News Servers are going at about 50kb per second on 1Mbps line here.

ok, resetting the router solved my problem. Thanks guys.
Now to cancel MWEB a/c before they start with throttling...

I switched to MWEB about 10 months ago, and have been downloading at an average of 150gb a month, so in total so far about 1.5TB

On a 1mb line? I'd suggest you find another ISP fast as that's definitely going to see you throttled.
